Sheep acupuncture

I have been acupuncturing an old (12) pet sheep for osteoarthritis over the last 6 months. I am now doing it every 4 weeks and have been able to make her more comfortable. She is coping with the acupuncture well but certainly has her own ideas about points and will shake any out that do not suit her. What kind on needles are people using on horses or farm animals? I have problems finding my needles back if they land on the ground, even although I use a small clean stable. At this moment I use Seirin 0.30 by 50 and use nail varnish to color the tip red.
