Has anyone had any success in treating Sweeney shoulder in horses?

In the textbook they suggest using electroacupuncture at Bo Lan and Bo Jian points and also pneumoacupuncture at Gong Zi (putting 500ml of air under the skin). I wondered if anyone has done pneumoacupuncture as I imagine if may be quite painful for the horse in the short term?

Thanks
